The product to watch from the Perth Mint this year will be the 2020 Australian Silver Kookaburra. This is the 30th Anniversary of the Silver Kookaburra and the Perth Mint is celebrating with a double strike of the famous bird. The reverse features a new design, as always, with a kookaburra perched at the apex of a tin roof as the sun rises in the distance. On the obverse, Queen Elizabeth II’s right-profile portrait is confined to the top of the design field. In the lower half, the original 1990 Australian Kookaburra design is struck to mark the occasion. Only 500,000 of these coins will be struck and are sure to sell quickly.
Royal Mint of England Britannias
Britannia remains resolute and unchanged on the reverse of the British Britannia bullion coins. The 2020 British Silver Britannia, 2020 British Gold Britannia, and 2020 British Platinum Britannia are all available to purchase already.
Bavarian State Mint Somalia Elephants
Similar to the Perth Mint’s bullion programs, the Bavarian State Mint alters the images on the reverse of the Somalia Elephant coins in the African Wildlife Series each year. 2020 is no exception as the new reverse design in this coveted series features two adult African bush elephants facing inward toward one another. Both elephants have mature tusks, though one has noticeably longer tusks than the other. In the background, the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro looms large. 2020 African Wildlife Somalia Elephant coins are available in a wide range of fractional-ounce silver and gold coins, several weights above 1 oz silver, and the 1 oz platinum coin option.
US Mint American Eagles
