Once cooled, design elements are stamped on one side with the other side being left blank. Due to how cast bars are made it's common for two from the same company to differ slightly. Scottsdale Silver Bullion Bars

The Scottsdale Mint of Arizona is one of the fastest growing private American mints. Like many other private and sovereign mints, Scottsdale is expanding its portfolio of gold and silver products to meet the intense demand from both investors and collectors for new products. Everything from silver rounds to gold bullion bars are rolling out of the refinery at Scottsdale Mint these days.

One of the most popular products from the Scottsdale Mint are silvers bars. All Scottsdale Mint Silver Bars are produced using sustainable resourcing of silver, and the mint is increasingly turning to intricate and unique designs to give their products a one-of-a-kind look and feel in the marketplace. Below you’ll find some of the popular Scottsdale Mint silver bars available.

    Scottsdale Mint Silver Bars

The Scottsdale Mint produces a variety of popular silver bars. The vast majority of its catalog consists of bullion bars with the Scottsdale Mint logo as the primary design feature of the product. Currently, the mint offers silver bars that include a minted ingot in a 1 oz weight, a 100 Gram Cast Silver Bar, and a series of hand-poured silver bars also bearing the Scottsdale Mint logo. One of its largest series is the stacker silver bar, which is an increasingly popular design concept because it offers investors brilliant design features with stackable forms for easy storage.

If you’re looking for the most unique product from the Scottsdale Mint’s silver bar catalog, then you need look no further than the Tombstone Silver Nugget Bars. These silver bars feature the same .999 pure silver used in all Scottsdale Mint bars, but have an altogether different appearance and finish aimed at attracting both investors and collectors. There’s no more fitting product from an Arizona mint than the Tombstone Silver Nugget bar.

    Tombstone Silver Nugget Bars

The Tomstone Silver Nugget Bars from the Scottsdale Mint represent the latest product added to the mint’s silver bar catalog. The series includes three total weights. You’ll find a 1 Kilo (32.15 Troy oz) bar, a 10 Troy oz bar, and a 5 Troy oz bar. Each of the bars in the series features the same finish and design concept, ships in the same style of packaging, and boasts .999 pure silver.

The only real differences in the bars are the size and shape of each, which is determined by the total weight of the bars. Silver Nugget bars also ship in different quantities because of their size, but feature the same shipment packaging regardless.

    Reverse Design Similarities

Each of the Tombstone Silver Nugget Bars from Scottsdale Mint has the same design on the reverse face of the bar. Each one bears the seal of the Scottsdale Mint, a lion’s head with a crown atop it, and the words “Made By Scottsdale Mint,” pressed by hand into the surface of the bar. Additional engravings include the bar’s purity, metal content, and weight on this face.

    Obverse Design Similarities

On the obverse face of all three bars you’ll find the same engravings. While engravings on the reverse are arranged horizontally from left to right, the engravings on this side of the bar are arranged vertically from the top of the bar to the bottom. On the top is the hand-stamped engraving of “Tombstone, Arizona Territory.” Below that, the simple words “Silver Nugget.”

    One-of-a-Kind Packaging

All Tombstone Silver Nugget bars from the Scottsdale Mint ship in truly unique packaging. With the purchase of an individual bar, regardless of weight, you’ll receive your Tombstone Silver Nugget bar in a canvas pouch reminiscent of those that would be used by banks and individuals to transport silver and gold nuggets in the 19th century.

For bulk purchases of these beautiful silver bars, the Scottsdale Mint uses traditional wooden crates to ship the bars. The 1 Kilo Tombstone Silver Nugget Bar ships in crates containing 15 bars, while the 10 oz Tombstone Silver Nugget Bar arrives in a crate in multiples of 50 and the 5 oz Tombstone Silver Nugget is available in crates 100 bars.

Origin of the Silver Nugget Design

The inspiration for the silver nugget bar design from Scottsdale Mint comes from a part of Arizona just a few hours away from the mint’s facility in Scottsdale. Tombstone is a town located in southeastern Arizona in Cochise County. It was originally founded in 1879 by Ed Schieffelin. Although much of Tombstone’s popular history in the United States is that of an outlaw town, characterized by the gun fight at the OK Corral, its history is much more complex.

Tombstone became an outlaw town because of the city’s massive silver mining operations in the late 19th century. Schieffelin came to the American West with an army scouting group tracking Apache Indians. During time in camp, Schieffelin kept busy walking around the local hills in search of unique rocks. Members of the scouting group told Schieffelin the only rock he’d ever find in the hills would be his Tombstone.

Schieffelin eventually shocked them all with the discovery of a silver nugget, which led not only to a boomtown, but also Schieffelin’s decision to name the area Tombstone. The area, and later Tombstone as a town, enjoyed prosperity between 1877 and 1890 as the silver mining industry setup camp and exploited massive silver mines in the region. During its booming period, an estimated maximum of $2.04 billion (modern value) of silver bullion was extracted.
