Gold Eagle coins from the United States Mint come in 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold. These four weights have been available annually in the BU series. The Proof coins debuted in 1986 with 1 oz gold and the fractional-ounce coins were introduced from 1987 to 1988. Burnished coins debuted in 2006 in all four weights, but are only available in 1 oz gold as of 2011.
All of the 2024 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins in this listing come to you individually packaged or in mint packaging. Individual coins are housed in protective flips, while multiples of 40 coins come in plastic tubes. All of the coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
On the obverse of 2024 American Gold Eagles, you will find Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ historic image of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907, it shows Liberty’s full-length figure walking toward the viewer in front-facing relief. She holds a torch in her right hand and an olive branch in her left.
The reverse side of the 2024 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with a depiction of the American bald eagle. This new design from Jennie Norris was created in 2020 and debuted in mid-2021. It captures the bald eagle in impressive left-profile relief with intricate detail for its plumage.
