The smallest coin available in the American Gold Eagle Series is the 1/10 oz gold coin. Introduced alongside the other three weights in 1986, the 1/10 oz gold coin holds the record for the highest single-year mintage for any given weight in the program’s history. Today, 2024 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle Coins in near-perfect condition are available online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
During the late 1990s, the Y2K crisis pushed the demand for American Gold Eagles to heights never seen prior, and not seen since. At this point in time, the 1/10 oz Gold Eagle set a program record with sales of 2.75 million in 1999 alone. This mark remains the highest single-year sales total for any individual weight in the series.
All 2024 1/10 American Gold Eagle Coins offered here come in Mint State 69 condition. Coins with this grade have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor flaws. Those flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and must be located outside the primary focal points of the coin. Early Release specimens are those received for certification within 30 days of issue by the mint.
On the obverse of 2024 American Gold Eagles is a depiction of Lady Liberty. Designed in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, this front-facing relief captures the full-length figure of Lady Liberty backed by sun rays and encircled by a ring of stars. She holds a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
The reverse side of the 2024 1/10 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with a vision of the American bald eagle. Designed by Jennie Norris, this image of the head of the bald eagle is set in left-profile relief and offers a beautiful, natural design element.
