American Gold Eagles are popular among investors and collectors. The US Mint issues the coins in Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof, and Burnished versions on an annual basis. Large volumes of Gold Eagles are also certified by the PCGS or NGC on an annual basis, with gold buyers who prize a pristine or near-perfect coin as a must-have item seeking out these certified Gold Eagles. Today, 2022 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion in near-perfect condition.
Coin Highlights:
This is the first full-year issue of the new reverse design. Created by Jennie Norris, this design replaced the bald eagle design from Miley Busiek on the reverse of the 2021 Gold Eagles in July. As part of the 35th anniversary of the series, the US Mint not only introduced this new design, but it also released coins with both the original reverse design, through June 2021, and coins with the new reverse design, through the end of 2021. As such, 2022 is the first year to feature only the new design on the reverse.
All of these 2022 1/2 oz American Gold Eagles are near-perfect specimens with plastic slabs for shipping. Coins in Mint State 69 condition have full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor flaws present. Examples of acceptable flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines that must be located outside of the primary focal points of the coin. The First Strike label is for coins received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of 2022 American Gold Eagle Coins is a depiction of Liberty. Designed in 1907, this vision shows the full-length figure of Liberty in front-facing relief as she walks toward you. She holds up a torch in her right hand and carries an olive branch in her left.
The reverse side of the 2022 1/2 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with the new bald eagle depiction from Jennie Norris. This is Ms. Norris’ first contribution to the United States Mint as a member of the Artistic Infusion Program.
