Each of the 2019 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins in this product listing comes to you inside of a protective plastic capsule and a United States Mint display box. The United States Mint issues the 2019 Proof Gold Eagles with no mintage limit, meaning that coins are struck to meet the demand of collectors.
American Gold Eagle coins feature one of the most beautiful coin designs ever used in the United States. Created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the image depicts Lady Liberty walking toward the viewer with a torch held high overhead in her right hand and a large olive branch in her left hand. The original design included 46 stars around the figure of Liberty.
On the obverse of 2019 1/10 oz Proof American Gold Eagle Coins, you’ll find Saint-Gaudens’ vision of Liberty with modernized imagery. All of the primary design elements remain the same, but the number of stars around her figure now numbers 50 to reflect the number of states in the US.
The reverse of 2019 Proof American Gold Eagle Coins includes the vision of American bald eagles. Created by Miley Busiek, it depicts a male eagle flying over the nest while a female eagle rests in the nest offering shelter to a young hatchling.
All Proof American Gold Eagle coins have been struck by the United States Mint at the West Point Mint facility since 2001. The obverse side of the coins bears a “W” mint mark to denote its striking at the West Point facility. The 1/10 oz Proof Gold Eagle often has the highest mintage figure in the series and is a popular choice each year for collectors.
