American Gold Eagle Coins enjoyed renewed interest in the 2010s as a result of the Great Recession. The global recession impacted markets in every nation around the world and drove more demand for safe-haven metals. Though the recession eased as the 2010s went along, uncertainty continued to impact gold demand and kept interest in Gold Eagles strong overall. Today, 2014 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In 2014, demand was down for each of the weights in the series compared to the 2013 release. The 1 oz Gold Eagle suffered the greatest drop in demand year-over-year, with its 2014 issue falling by more than 300,000 coins from the previous year. The 1/10 oz Gold Eagle had the lowest drop in demand at just 10,000 fewer coins and finished as the highest-minted coin in the series in 2014.
All 2014 1 oz American Gold Eagle Coins are available with individual plastic flips. The 2010s presented an interesting ebb and flow in demand. The 1 oz Gold Eagles soared in 2009 and 2010, before dropping through 2011 and 2012. The years to come saw a spike in 2013, a drop in 2014, and steady gains through 2016 until the series entered a long decline from 2017 to 2019.
On the obverse of 2014 American Gold Eagles is a depiction of Lady Liberty. This design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens for the $20 Gold Double Eagle and shows the full-length figure of Liberty in front-facing relief. She carries a torch in her right hand, an olive branch in the left hand, and is surrounded by a ring of stars. The background field is filled by sun rays and includes the U.S. Capitol Building.
The reverse side of the 2014 1 oz Gold Eagle Coin comes with Miley Busiek’s beautiful depiction of an American bald eagle family. The design shows a male eagle soaring over the nest as a female eagle guards over hatchlings.

"First time ever bought the gold eagle coin. I must say it feels great just to look at it and hold it. Seems slightly dull yellow because of copper mix but all in all very satisfied with the purchase from JM Bullion. Vice decision for an investor would be to purchase 1 ounce pure gold bar but coins are just awesome."
"lest we forget of the numismatic value of the " American Gold Eagle",Charles!! I have purchased over a pound of the aforementioned product from JMB and have nothing but raves about price, promptness and quality of the product offered. Regards,Bret. FL."
"Fantastic looking coin but look at the premium over spot you are paying. First, to be fair JM Bullion is fairly consistent at the lowest prices but, melted down is really what your gold is worth, net. Also, I will state I purchased this coin and very well may purchase another eagle in the future but that will be with full knowledge, this is not necessarily the best gold investment out there. They mint so many coins it may not even be all that good of a deal in coins. But I do so I buy one or two now and then. Looking at "over spot price" at this review here is the break down. If you pay with a credit card (don't as JMB and you pay out cash to a third party) you will be paying $106.76 as a premium over spot. If you pay by wire or check (a much better option) you would pay $55.80 over spot for one ounce. However, if your purchase an OPM 1 Oz bar (same amount of gold? you would be paying $26.25 (check/wire) as the premium. This would be about half of the premium on the coin. Take the time to think about what you are wanting to do over the long haul. As a gold investment, this deal is not really all that great. Coin investment? So, so. Gold investment? Stick with the bullion and forget the coins. So you want this coin anyway? I can tell you I was well pleased with the coin JMB sent."
"Can't go wrong with AGE's, intrinsic value and collected."
