That assay card features the mint name and a serial number on one side, with the weight, purity, metal content, and signature of a certified assayer on the other side.
The obverse face of 2.5 Gram Argor-Heraeus Gold Bars features the inscriptions of the mint logo, nation of origin, weight, metal content, purity, assayer’s mark, and unique serial number. The mint logo consists of a circle with the initials “AH” in the center and the full name of the mint around it. The bottom of the bar includes the assayer’s stamp and a unique serial number engraved in a six-digit numeric code.
On the reverse side of 2.5 Gram Argor-Heraeus Gold Bars there are no design elements or marks of any kind. Many investment-grade bars feature no markings on the reverse field. These types of bars are rarely purchased for visual brilliance or the designs on the product, but rather, are valued solely for the metal content and purity of the item.
Argor-Heraeus was founded in 1951 as Argor SA in the Swiss city of Chiasso. UBS acquired 100% ownership of the mint in 1973 and brought in the German Heraeus group in 1986, setting the groundwork for the modern Argor-Heraeus.
