Silver Panda coins were introduced in 1983 as proof specimens only and did not feature a standardized weight or purity through the first several years. For example, purity levels in the coins varied between 1983 and 1989 from 90% silver to sterling silver (92.5%), eventually landing on .999 purity in 1989.
All of these 2024 30 Gram Chinese Silver Panda Coins are in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The coins are packaged in plastic capsules and have a beautiful layer of 24-karat gold applied to the depiction of the two pandas on the obverse. Just 5,000 of the 2024 Silver Pandas have this gilded finish.
In the obverse design of 2024 Chinese Silver Panda Coins, you will find the image of two Giant Pandas. This year’s design shows the pandas sitting together beneath the foliage as the adult leans down toward its young cub. The only elements on this side plated with 24-karat gold are the bodies of the Giant Pandas.
For the reverse face of 2024 30 Gram Silver Pandas, the image of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests is captured in the design element. The building is viewed from the base of the stairs leading to its main entrance. This design has been featured on Gold and Silver Pandas since 1982.
