Chinese Gold Pandas were introduced by the Chinese Mint in 1982 with weights of 1 oz, 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and 1/10 oz gold. In 1983, a 1/20 oz gold coin was introduced to complete the series. In 2001, the face value of each coin was increased, but a bigger change came in 2016. In 2016, the Chinese Mint switched from Troy ounces to Grams, resulting in 30 Gram, 15 Gram, 8 Gram, 3 Gram, and 1 Gram coins.
The obverse side of the 2024 Chinese Gold Panda Coins comes with a depiction of the Hall of Prayer for Abundant Harvests. This building is the central structure in the Temple of Heaven Complex and this design has been static on the coins in this series since the 1982 debut of the collection.
On the reverse field of 2024 30 Gram Gold Panda Coins, you will find the new image of the Giant Pandas. This year’s design shows an adult panda seated next to its young cub as it leans its head down toward the cub. The background field comes with natural foliage.
