The Republic of Armenia, located in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia, declared its independence from the Russian Empire on May 28, 1918. This marked the establishment of the First Republic of Armenia, which lasted until 1920.
The obverse of the 2024 Armenian Gold Noah’s Ark Coin features the image of the Armenian coat of arms. This symbol includes a quartered shield that is flanked by a heraldic eagle and a heraldic lion. The quadrants of the shield feature additional eagles and lions, while the central shield bears the image of Noah’s Ark.
