From the Kangaroo and Kookaburra to the Koala, Emu, Quokka, and others, the Perth Mint will begin to feature Dan Thorne’s new bust of Charles III as its obverse design.
The obverse of these 2024 Australian Gold Kangaroos features the new portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. Captured in left-profile relief, in keeping with tradition that sees each monarch depicted in opposing relief, Charles III is shown here in a suit without a crown on his head.
On the reverse of 2024 1/4 oz Gold Kangaroo Coins is a depiction of a kangaroo in left-profile relief. The marsupial dominates the foreground of the design field, with a windmill and water storage tank set on the rural property in the background of the design element. This side includes the P125 mint mark.
