The story of Noah's Ark is primarily found in the Book of Genesis in the Bible. According to the biblical account, God chose Noah, a righteous man, to build an ark to save his family and a pair of every kind of animal from a worldwide flood.
Noah followed God's instructions and built the ark, which was a massive vessel made of gopher wood and coated with pitch. The floodwaters covered the earth for 40 days and 40 nights, and the ark eventually came to rest on the mountains of Ararat after the waters receded. Historically, Mount Ararat was within the borders of the former Kingdom of Armenia.
On the obverse of the 2024 1/2 oz Gold Noah’s Ark Coin, you will find the Armenian coat of arms. The national seal contains symbolism of both Armenia’s recent Soviet-era history and its ancient history as the Kingdom of Armenia.
