2024 is the 39th consecutive year that American Gold Eagles have been made available. Coin Highlights:
The United States Mint introduced the American Gold Eagle Series, alongside the silver release, in 1986. These coins debuted with a 1 oz coin as well as three fractional ounces including a 1/2 oz, 1/4 oz, and a 1/10 oz. Like the silver release, these gold coins are available in three variations, bullion, proof, and burnished.
Each 2024 1/2 oz American Gold Eagle Coin will arrive in an NGC protective plastic slab. These coins have been graded as near-perfect specimens as evidenced by their MS69 grade. These coins have their full, original mint luster with a maximum of two minor detractions such as contact marks or hairlines. These coins are also designated as Early Release indicating that they were received by the NGC within the first 30 days of release by the UN Mint.
The obverse side of the 2024 1/2 oz American Eagle Coin features Lady Liberty. This depiction was initially created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens back in 1907. Liberty is walking toward the viewer in front-facing relief holding a torch in one hand and an olive branch in the other.
The reverse field of each 2024 American Gold Eagle Coin showcases an American bald eagle. This new design displays a close-up portrait of the bird in left-profile relief. Jennie Norris created this design that was first used in 2021.
