Since the debut of modern bullion coins at Perth Mint in the 1980s, including the Gold Kangaroo Series in 1986 as the Gold Nugget, Perth Mint bullion coins have featured only effigies of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. With the 2024 release cycle, Perth Mint will begin to transition all its collections to a first-ever bust of His Majesty King Charles III on the obverse side.
All of these 2024 1/10 oz Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins are available with acrylic capsules for delivery. The coins offered here come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and have a limited mintage. Perth Mint will strike no more than 200,000 of these coins in 2024.
On the obverse of 2024 Australian Gold Kangaroo Coins, you will find the new portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. The king is shown here in left-profile relief wearing a suit in a portrait by Dan Thorne. This depiction of His Majesty lacks a crown, a common detail left out of the portraits of male monarchs on British coins over the last century.
The reverse side of the 2024 1/10 oz Gold Kangaroos comes with a depiction of a kangaroo in left-profile relief. The kangaroo is prominently featured in the foreground as it leaps passed a dry creek bed. In the background, you’ll notice a windmill and water storage tank, both of which are fixtures on the landscape of rural Australia. This side includes the P125 mint mark.
