The introduction of the Peace Silver Dollar in 1921 marked both a transition in design for the US silver dollar and the beginning of the end of its production life cycle. The Peace Silver Dollar was the last design in the series and was used from 1921 to 1928, and again from 1934 to 1935. This marked the last release of 90% silver US dollars. In 2021, the US Mint revived the Morgan and Peace Dollars to mark the centennial of the 1921 issue of the coins.

On the obverse of the 2023 Peace Silver Dollar is a depiction of Lady Liberty. Designed by Anthony di Francisci, this image shows a softer Lady Liberty in left-profile relief with a radiant crown on her head and free-flowing hair.
The reverse side of 2023-S Proof Peace Dollars includes an image of the American bald eagle. Reflective of the nation’s desire for peace, this image shows the sun rising in the distant background as the eagle sits perched on a cliff edge with its wings at rest and an olive branch in its talons.
