The Peace Silver Dollar was the final silver dollar used as money in the United States. It was made 10 times between 1921 and 1928, and then again from 1934 to 1935. In 2021, the US Mint celebrated its 100th anniversary by making a new version of the Peace Silver Dollar using .999 pure silver. This collection continues in 2023 with new shiny and carefully made coins for collectors. Today, certified-perfect 2023-S Proof Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available to you online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
When the Peace Silver Dollar made its debut in 1921, the Philadelphia Mint was the only branch to strike the coins. When the second year of production started in 1922, the Philadelphia Mint was joined by the San Francisco Mint and the Denver Mint in the production of the coins.
All of these modern 2023-S Proof Peace Silver Dollar Coins are in perfect condition. PR70 coins have full, original mint luster and no flaws. The First Strike designation indicates a coin received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
The obverse of the 2023-S Proof Peace Dollar shows a depiction of Lady Liberty made by Anthony di Francisci. It’s an image that shows Liberty facing to the left. She has long hair that flows freely and she wears a breathtaking crown of light on her head.
On the reverse of the 2023-S Proof Peace Silver Dollar, there’s a depiction of an American bald eagle. This design shows the eagle sitting on the edge of a cliff. It’s holding an olive branch, a symbol of peace, in its claws. The eagle doesn’t have the shield that represents the US or the arrows that are usually shown in pictures of eagles during times of war. This is meant to show the desire for peace among the American people.
