Coin Highlights:
The original design of the Peace Silver Dollar comes from Anthony di Francisci. His depiction of Lady Liberty and a bald eagle at rest were chosen following an art competition held by the US Mint. The designs were created to symbolize the peace desired by the United States in the wake of World War I.
All of these 2023 Peace Silver Dollar Coins are available to purchase in certified condition. Mint State 69 coins are near-perfect specimens that have full, original mint luster with no more than two minor flaws. Acceptable flaws at this grade include minuscule contact marks and hairlines found outside the primary focal points. As an Early Release specimen, these coins were received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of 2023 Peace Dollar Coins, you will find a left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. The design field includes a bust of Liberty with gentler facial features and a radiant crown of light on her head.
The reverse of the 2023 Peace Silver Dollar features the image of an American bald eagle. This design includes a depiction of the bald eagle perched on the edge of a rock cliff. Here, the eagle has its back to the viewer with its wings resting at its sides as it clutches the olive branch of peace.
