The United States Mint is offering several versions of the Peace Silver Dollar in 2023, giving numismatists various options to choose from when collecting these modern versions of the historic US silver dollar design. Coin Highlights:
When the US Mint restarted silver dollar coining in 1921, the decision was made to initially revive the Morgan Dollar to allow time for a new design to be created. Anthony di Francisci was the artist whose images of Liberty and the American bald eagle were eventually chosen for the new coin. His designs coincided with the desire to produce a new silver dollar honoring the hard-earned peace from World War I. With this, the new Peace Silver Dollar was born.
All of the 2023 Peace Silver Dollar Coins available here come with a perfect certification from the CAC. A Mint State 70 coin has full, original mint luster and comes with no detracting flaws of any kind. First Day of Delivery Coins represent some of the first shipped by the mint following release.
On the obverse of the 2023 Peace Dollar coin, you will find di Francisci’s vision of Lady Liberty. This left-profile bust of Liberty captures a calm figure with a radiant crown of light on her head and free-flowing hair.
The reverse side of 2023 Peace Silver Dollars includes di Francisci’s symbolic bald eagle depicted at peace. Here, the bald eagle is perched on a cliff edge with its wings resting at its sides as its talons clutch an olive branch.
