The 2023 release of Morgan Silver Dollars at the United States Mint marks the second issue of modern Morgan Dollars. Morgan Silver Dollars were last issued for circulation in 1921. Once replaced by the Peace Silver Dollar, the Morgan Dollar was not issued again for another century. The 2021 release of Morgan Silver Dollar commemorative coins honored the centennial of the coin’s final strike back in 1921.

On the obverse of 2023 Morgan Dollars is a depiction of Lady Liberty in left-profile relief. This design comes with the image of Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap on the back of her head, as well as the coronet crown and laurel wreath in her hair.
The reverse side of 2023 Morgan Silver Dollars comes with an image of the heraldic eagle. This design features a front-facing bald eagle with spread wings that is clutching the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace in its talons.
