In 2023, the United States Mint again issues a modern version of the Morgan Silver Dollar and the Peace Silver Dollar. For just the second time since 2021, the modern Morgan Dollar is back and offers collectors a .999 pure silver version of one of America’s most beloved silver dollars. Today, 2023 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available in certified condition online at JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
The Morgan Silver Dollar was first minted in 1878. It was authorized by the Bland-Allison Act, which required the U.S. Treasury to purchase a specific amount of silver bullion each month and convert it into silver dollars. Named after its designer, George T. Morgan, the coin was intended to replace the previous Seated Liberty Dollar.
All of these 2023 Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available here in near-perfect condition. Coins with a Mint State 69 grade have full, original mint luster and a maximum of two flaws. These minuscule contact marks or hairlines must be located outside the primary focal points of the coin. Early Release specimens are those coins the NGC receives for grading within 30 days of release from the mint.
On the obverse of 2023 Morgan Silver Dollars is the effigy of Lady Liberty. Designed by Morgan in 1878, this left-profile bust captures Liberty’s head with a Phrygian cap, coronet crown, and a laurel wreath.
The reverse side of the 2023 Morgan Dollar comes with a unique version of the heraldic eagle. Also designed by Morgan, this image shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with spread wings and the arrows of war and an olive branch of peace in its talons.
