Emperor penguins inhabit the coldest environment of any bird species. They are native to Antarctica, where temperatures can drop as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. To survive in these extreme conditions, they have a thick layer of blubber and dense feathers that provide excellent insulation.
All of the 2023 1 oz Australian Gold Emperor Penguin Coins available here come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. Each coin is housed in a capsule and comes with a themed presentation box. The box also includes a Certificate of Authenticity from the mint.
On the obverse of 2023 Australian Gold Emperor Penguin Coins, you’ll find the final effigy of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Designed in 2015 by Jody Clark, this effigy has been on Australian coins since 2018. Her Late Majesty’s record-breaking reign is honored on this side with the 1952-2022 date marks.
