One of the more popular annual releases is the Mexican Gold Libertad Coin. This unique bullion coin features no face value but has backing from Banco de Mexico. While this well-known coin program made its debut back in 1981, it’s faced multiple stoppages in production over the years but has been released annually in multiple weights since 2002. JM Bullion is excited to bring to you the 2023 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin, available for purchase now.
- Available to you in protective flips or plastic tubes of 10 coins!
- 28th year in the 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Series!
- Contains 1 Troy oz of .999 pure gold in BU condition.
- The obverse features the Mexican coat of arms.
- The reverse showcases the depiction of Winged Victory.
The obverse field of each 2023 Mexican Gold Libertad Coin displays the Mexican coat of arms, front, and center. This well-known image features an eagle, perched on a cactus, holding a rattlesnake in its talons and beak. Decorative laurels tied with a ribbon are beneath the cactus. Notably, the previous 10 coats of arms frame this image.
A depiction of Winged Victory is on the reverse field of the 2023 1 oz Gold Libertad Coin. After featuring a front-facing relief image of this statue from 1981-1999, it was changed to the three-quarter side profile we see here. Victory is holding broken chains in one hand and a wreath crown in the other. In the background, we can see the mountains of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl.
With your purchase of the 2023 1 oz Mexican Gold Libertad Coin, you will receive a gold coin in Brilliant Uncirculated condition. To preserve their condition, these gold coins will be shipped in protective flips. For multiples of 10, coins will arrive in tubes.
These coins are brought to you by the Mexican Mint. Established in 1535, this makes it the oldest mint in the Americas. This coin program made its debut in 1981 with initially just 1 oz, 1/2 oz, and 1/4 oz gold coins available. 1/10 oz and 1/20 oz weights were made available a decade later. Mexican Gold Libertads were not struck from 1995-1999. They had a one-year revival in 2000 before another stoppage in 2001. These coins have since been released annually starting in 2002.
