Walking Liberty is on the obverse of 2023 American Silver Eagle Coins. This design from Adolph A. Weinman was created in 1916 and shows Liberty in left-profile relief as she walks toward the horizon. Her right hand is extended as her left hand carries branches of oak and laurel. The American flag is draped around her figure as well.
An American bald eagle is on the reverse side of 2023 1 oz Silver Eagle Coins. Created in 2020 by Emily Damstra, this new, naturalistic image of the bald eagle debuted in 2021 as part of the 35th anniversary of the series. Here, the eagle swoops into view with an oak branch in its talons.
