KOMSCO is home to many iconic series. Their collections of medallions are popular due to their designs, purity, and unique face value. These medallions lack a traditional face value, instead using clay to represent metal content. Their most well-known series, Chiwoo Cheonwang, is now available in a smaller gold size, with a themed assay card. Order your 2023 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallion today, at JM Bullion.
Medallion Highlights:
In Asian mythology, Chiwoo Cheonwang is known as the god of war. He’s a popular figure in Asian culture but depictions of him vary throughout history. Some versions depict him as having four eyes and six arms each wielding a different weapon. Others show him as a military leader with the mask of a demon. Chiwoo was also used as the mascot for the South Korean soccer team during the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
Each 2023 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallion will arrive in a blue sealed assay card. Each assay card features a larger image of the Doggaebi shield. Notably, these assay cards also list essential information such as a certificate number and the Certified Assayer. While these medallions have a mintage of 500, only 125 are available with the blue assay card.
The obverse side of the 2023 South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Gold Medallion features the iconic Doggaebi shield. This shield was used by Chiwoo Cheonwang and is also a popular creature associated with getting rid of evil spirits. Identifying marks of the medallion surround this image.
The reverse field of the 2023 1/10 oz South Korean Chiwoo Cheonwang Medallion showcases Chiwoo Cheonwang, the god of war. In this unique depiction, Chiwoo is seen pushing a pawn toward the center of the table while looking at the viewer.
