The Type 2 coin release in mid-2021 marks a turning point in the history of the series. Each of the 2021 1 oz Proof American Silver Eagles in this listing comes with a near-perfect certification. Coins in PF69 condition exhibit full, original mint luster with no more than two minor detracting flaws. The flaws present on these coins are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines and are found only outside of the primary focal points of the coin.
The coins in this listing come with two additional designations. UCAM stands for ultra-cameo and references the strong, frosted designs overlaying the deeply-mirrored, clear fields. The First Day of Issue designation is for coins that were received by the NGC within 24 hours of the initial release by the US Mint.
The obverse side of 2021 Proof American Silver Eagle Coins comes with an image of Walking Liberty. Designed in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman, the image shows Liberty walking toward the sun on the horizon with her right hand outstretched and her left hand carrying branches of oak and laurel.
On the reverse field of the 2021 oz Proof Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin is the new design element for the series. It depicts an American bald eagle swooping into the design field with a large oak branch in its talons.
The new reverse design for the series was created by Emily Damstra. An exceptionally talented artist, Ms. Damstra has previously worked with the Royal Canadian Mint and the United States Mint on various coin design programs.
