The Burnished American Silver Eagle Coin was the only one of the three versions of the Silver Eagle to not be issued in 2021 with the original Type 1 design. The last issue of the Burnished Silver Eagle with the Type 1 design came in 2020. As such, the only 2021 Burnished Silver Eagle available from the US Mint features the all-new bald eagle reverse. Right now, near-perfect 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Each 2021-W 1 oz Burnished American Silver Eagle Coin listed here comes with a near-perfect certification from the NGC. Coins in Mint State 69 condition exhibit full, original mint luster and have a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. These flaws are limited in nature to minuscule contact marks or hairlines, and limited in scope to the areas outside of the primary focal points of the coin. Included in the slab for the coin is an Early Release designation. This means the coins were received by the NGC within 30 days of release from the mint.
Burnished Silver Eagles received the same reverse design overhaul in 2021 that the BU and Proof versions of the coin received. However, no 2021 Burnished Silver Eagle was issued with the original reverse design in the first half of the year. The Burnished Silver Eagle has been available from the US Mint since 2006, with 2021 marking its 14th overall issue as it was not struck in 2009 or 2010.
Walking Liberty graces the obverse of 2021-W Burnished American Silver Eagle Coins. This design was created in 1916 by Adolph A. Weinman and first featured on the nation’s half-dollar coin from 1916 to 1947. This image shows Liberty’s full-length figure in left-profile relief. The new Type 2 release of Silver Eagles includes Weinman’s original AW signature mark on this field of the coin.
An all-new image of the American bald eagle features on the reverse of the 2021-W Burnished Silver Eagle Type 2 Coin. Designed in 2020 by Emily Damstra, this vision of the bald eagle in flight captures the bird with flexed wings and a large oak branch in its talons.
