The Morgan Silver Dollar was struck for the last time in 1921. This issue of the Morgan Dollar was a one-off issue as silver dollar coining had halted in the US in 1904. 2021 marks the centennial of that final issue and the US Mint issued silver bullion coins with five options to honor the history of the Morgan Silver Dollar. Now, 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins in perfect condition are available to purchase online from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
Morgan Silver Dollar Coins were first struck in 1878. That first year of issue came with coins issued by the Philadelphia Mint, the San Francisco Mint, and the Carson City Mint. Only the Denver Mint would issue the coins fewer times than Carson City, with just one year of issue.
The Carson City Mint issued Morgan Silver Dollars from 1878 to 1885, paused for three years, and returned to coining in 1889. The return was brief though as Carson City struck the coins from 1889 to 1893, the year the Carson City Mint closed. All original Morgan Silver Dollars from this era came with CC privy marks.
Liberty is found on the obverse side of 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins. This depiction of Liberty was created in 1878 for this series by US Mint Assistant Engraver George T. Morgan. The design shows Liberty in left-profile relief with a laurel wreath in her hair and a coronet crown on her head.
The heraldic eagle of the United States is featured on the reverse of 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins. This design was also created by Morgan and features the bald eagle in front-facing relief as its talons clutch the arrows of war and an olive branch of peace. The bird is framed beneath by a wreath of oak and laurel.
These 2021 CC Privy Morgan Silver Dollar Coins are available to purchase in perfect condition. The PCGS assigns a Mint State 70 grade to coins that have full, original mint luster and come with no detracting flaws. The First Strike designation included with the coins means that each one was received for grading within 30 days of release from the mint. These coins were produced by the Philadelphia Mint with an honorary CC privy on the reverse.
