These coins were originally produced at the United States Mint, with this limited allotment enhanced by Emporium Hamburg to feature real-life colors on the reverse field.
The reverse of 2019 5 oz Colorized Lowell National Historical Park Coins features the image of a woman working on a power loom inside of a mill, with the Boott Mill clock visible through the window in the background of her workspace. Lowell, Massachusetts, was one of the industrial powerbases during the Industrial Revolution in the United States.
Between the 1880s and 1940s, Lowell was home to some of the largest textile plants in the United States. Today, the Lowell National Historical Park exists to preserve the buildings that made up the original downtown sector of the city during the Industrial Revolution. The park is centered on the Boott Cotton Mill & Museum.
On the obverse of all 2019 5 oz Colorized ATB Lowell National Historical Park Silver coins is President George Washington. This left-profile bust of President Washington is the same that features on the obverse of circulation quarters and is based on the 1932 depiction by John Flanagan that was introduced on the quarter to mark Washington’s 200th birthday.
