The obverse field of each 2019 Ultra High Relief Reverse Proof Canadian Peace and Liberty Silver Medal features the depiction of Liberty. This design was created by John Mercanti, former Chief Engraver of the US Mint. This depiction of Liberty is seen walking toward the viewer as she holds a sword in her right hand and a torch in her left hand.
The reverse side of the 2019 10 oz Ultra High Relief Reverse Proof Peace and Liberty Silver Medal showcases the depiction of Peace. Susan Taylor, former Senior Engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint created this design. This depiction of Peace showcases a female embodiment of her in left-profile relief with the Canadian national motto displayed at the top.
Each 2019 10 oz Ultra High Relief Reverse Proof Canadian Peace and Liberty Silver Medal will arrive in a protective plastic slab from the NGC. These silver medals boast a grade of PF70 from the National Guaranty Corporation. PF70 medals exhibit full, original mint luster and have no detracting flaws of any kind. These medals also are First Day of Issue specimens meaning they were received for certification within 24 hours of release from the mint.
These medals mark the first time that artists from the Royal Canadian Mint and the US Mint collaborated to design a medal. The reverse of these medals was created by Susan Taylor of the Royal Canadian Mint while the obverse was designed by John Mercanti of the US Mint. Taylor spent 33 years at the Royal Canadian Mint while Mercanti spent 36 years at the US Mint.
