The COA for each coin matches the serial number engraved on each coin in the release. These 2017 2 oz Baptism of Jesus Silver Biblical Coins have edge-lettering with a laser-engraved individual serial number denoting its position in production from 1 to 1,499.
Described in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, the Baptism of Jesus occurs at the hands of John the Baptist and is considered one of the five major milestones in the narrative life of Jesus. The others include the Transfiguration, Crucifixion, Resurrection, and Ascension.
On the reverse of each 2017 2 oz Baptism of Jesus Silver Biblical Coin we see John the Baptist standing at the water’s edge as he conducts the baptism of Jesus. The Son of God is featured standing in ankle deep water with a ray of sunshine coming down from the heavens above over his head. A lone engraving reads “Baptism of Jesus.”
The obverse of all Biblical Silver Coins includes the image of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty’s effigy is routinely updated for use on British and commonwealth coinage, with Scottsdale Mint choosing Raphael Maklouf’s third-generation effigy from 1984, which was on circulation coinage from 1984 until 1997.
Scottsdale Mint is the production facility of these coins for the nation of Niue. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, this private mint has exceptional offerings in terms of both its own branded precious metals and bullion coinage for foreign reserve banks.
