The Royal Canadian Mint’s all-new Batman v. Superman coins have a hidden surprise on the series’ 25-cent piece. While the other coins have brilliant, singular designs, this particular coin shows you how Batman and Superman really are two sides of the same coin. The 2016 Canadian Cupronickel Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice Lenticular Coin is now available for purchase from JM Bullion.
Coin Highlights:
In this unique offering, your purchase of 2016 Canadian Cupronickel Batman v. Superman coins will make you feel like a child again. Each coin you purchase comes with a presentation folder that includes two trading cards. One card is guaranteed to be a Batman v. Superman card, while the other will randomly feature either Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman.
For those unfamiliar with the metal used in the production of this coin, cupronickel refers to a group of copper and nickel alloys. The most common combination of these alloys are 90/10 copper/nickel/iron and 70/30 copper/nickel/iron.
On the reverse face of the coin is the unique Lenticular design of this coin. Looking at the coin straight on, you’ll find the silhouette image of Superman in flight, but tilt your coin from side and side and the design transitions easily from Superman to the image of Batman instead, with the colors even changing from a tint of red in the Superman image to all black for Batman.
You’ll also find the engravings of the coin’s nation of issue, face value, and year of issue on this face. The obverse includes the familiar right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II from Susanna Blunt. The lone engravings on this side read “Elizabeth II” and “D.G. Regina.”
The Royal Canadian Mint is among the finest precious metal producers in the world today. It operates two facilities. Its original location was opened in Ottawa in 1908, and a secondary facility was opened in Winnipeg in the 1980s.
