Each Certified American Gold Eagle offered through this JM Bullion product listing earned the highest possible grade from the PCGS. An MS70 coin has its full, original mint luster and lacks any blemishes, contact marks, breaks in the luster, or spotted surfaces.
When the American Gold Eagle bullion coin debuted in 1986, the 1 oz weight was the most popular in terms of demand and mintage numbers. In the early years of production, the 1 oz coin was minted at levels double or even triple that of the other fractional-weight coins.
However, in the past five years the 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle has proven exceptionally popular. As of 2014, its mintage numbers exceeded the 1 oz weight. The 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle owes its popularity to its smaller size and more affordable price that results from that lower weight.
On the obverse is the image of Lady Liberty created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens. His Liberty image was chosen for the obverse of the $20 Gold Double Eagle, and became the most popular coin design in American history.
Miley Busiek, a popular modern artist who previously worked on private and public works for individuals and the government, created the family of nesting bald eagles featured on the reverse of all American Gold Eagle coins.

“I recently bought my first Certified gold coin in the form of this 1/10th oz. PCGS MS70 Gold Eagle. If you want to include Certified gold coins in your portfolio, this is a great coin to start with. JM Bullion is also a great place to start – and finish. MS70 graded coins seem to be the first ones to disappear off the shelves – and the ones to go up in value the quickest and the most as well. At least in a good economy. My opinion is that in a failed economy, BU coins will be your best value. My strategy is to have a few Certified coins on hand for investments, but the majority in BU condition for security. But that’s just me.”
