The second live-action television spinoff of Star Trek: The Original Series hit American television sets in 1993. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was the first installment in the Star Trek universe that didn’t experience the direct guiding hand of creator Gene Roddenberry, who had passed away in 1991. Now, the latest Star Trek-themed coin from Australia’s Perth Mint is available on JM Bullion. Don’t miss your chance to purchase a limited edition 2015 Star Trek Proof Silver Two-Coin Set today!

Deep Space Nine was set in the 23rd century in the Milky Way galaxy. Captain Benjamin Sisko, played by actor Avery Brooks, was the commander of a space station positioned at the opening of a Bajoran wormhole in the Alpha Quadrant of space.
This limited-edition collection has just 1,500 sets available. In the set you receive two proof silver coins. On the reverse side of one coin is the colorized image of actor Avery Brooks in full costume as Captain Benjamin Sisko, commander of the Deep Space Nine facility. A common Star Trek motif found on the other coins in the series is featured in the background.
On the reverse of the other coin in the set is the image of the space station itself. While the majority of the background and the space station is featured in a brilliant, silver proof finish, the galaxy behind the station boasts bright blue and green colors that bring the galaxy to life.
The obverse of both coins in the 2015 Star Trek Proof Silver Two-Coin Set features Queen Elizabeth II’s portrait, as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley. Perth Mint engraver Jennifer McKenna designed both reverse designs in the Deep Space Nine coin set.
Australia’s Perth Mint is a state-owned entity of Western Australia, and though it does not produce official currency for Australia, its coins do have status as legal tender in the country.
