Limited Mintage of 5,000 Coins!
The Royal Australian Mint has long been producing attractive, valuable coins that appeal to both collectors and investors. A perfect example of this is the Prestige Lunar Series of silver coins, created to celebrate the Chinese Lunar Calendar. 2014’s addition to the Lunar Series was the 5 oz Australian Silver Horse Coin. The coin is part of only a limited number of coins minted and contains a proof-like finish.
Like most all coins produced by the RAM, the 2014 5 oz Silver Horse is home to a beautiful design with intense amounts of detail. The coin’s reverse depicts a single "kicking horse." Below the horse to its left is the Chinese symbol for horse, and the words “5 oz .999 Silver” are fixated towards the bottom. The coin’s obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley and depicts the famed Queen Elizabeth II in profile. Surrounding the Queen’s image are the $10 AUD face value, and inscriptions which read “Elizabeth II”, “Australia”, and “2014.”
