For each coin issued in the series, the site and state were chosen based on the age of the federally protected site. For example, the Arkansas coin was issued first as the lands that eventually made up Hot Springs National Park became federally protected in 1832. California’s Yosemite National Park was third as it became protected in 1890.
President George Washington features on the obverse of all 2010 ATB Yosemite Silver Coins. The design is based on John Flanagan’s 1932 image introduced for the US circulation quarter. Flanagan’s left-profile portrait of the nation’s first president was based on a 1786 bust of the former Commander-in-Chief.
El Capitan is found in the reverse design of the 2010 5 oz ATB Yosemite Silver Coin. The imposing figure of El Capitan is a vertical rock formation found within Yosemite National Park and reaches nearly 3,000 feet from the base to the summit.
These 2010 5 oz ATB Yosemite Silver Coins are available to purchase in near-perfect condition. With an SP69 certification, the coins listed here showcase full, original mint luster and come with no more than two minor detractions.
