The American Silver Eagle Series boasts only 1 oz silver options for investors and collectors. When it was introduced in 1986, the series offered BU and Proof options. In 2006, a Burnished version of the coin was introduced. Since 1986, the only version of the coin issued each year without a missing date mark is the BU Silver Eagle.
All of the 1986-2024 American Silver Eagle 40-Coin Sets offered here come with coins individually sealed in plastic slabs from the NGC. Each coin is a Mint State 69 specimen with full, original mint luster and a maximum of two minor detracting flaws. Examples of these flaws include only minuscule contact marks or hairlines located outside the primary focal points.
Please note that each set comes with a box to hold all 40 coins issued since 1986. The coins are all in their own NGC slabs, and each set features two 2021-dated coins. The 2021 issue is the only one in the series with two versions of the coin struck as the US Mint transitioned from the original reverse to the new, modern reverse.
In the obverse design of American Silver Eagle Coins, you will find Adolph A. Weinman’s historic image of Walking Liberty. Her left-profile relief offers a glimpse of her full-length figure as she walk toward the sun on the horizon clutching branches of oak and laurel in her left hand.
For the reverse field of 1 oz Silver Eagles, you will notice one of two designs. Coins dated 1986 to mid-2021 have John Mercanti’s original depiction of the heraldic eagle. Coins dated mid-2021 to present have the new soaring eagle, a left-profile relief of the bird in flight as it clutches an oak branch.
