US Mint Sets are the basic collectible sets from the United States Mint. The coins do not have precious metals content and are not struck in proof. However, all of the coins are in uncirculated condition and were packaged in these sealed pouches after coining at the US Mint. Included in each set are six different designs. These include the Lincoln Penny, Jefferson Nickel, Roosevelt Dime, Washington Quarter, Kennedy Half Dollar, and the Susan B. Anthony Dollar.
The most distinctive coin in the set is the Susan B. Anthony Dollar. Introduced in 1979, it was much smaller than historic US silver dollars and boasted a unique, eleven-sided coin blank. The Susan B. Anthony Dollar featured in this set was only issued in US Mint Sets dated 1979 to 1981.
