In total, over 650 million of these coins have been produced with over 300 million being made at the Philadelphia Mint. These coins are named after the man who designed them, George T. Morgan. At the time he was an Assistant Engraver but later on would become the seventh Chief Engraver of the United States Mint.
Each 1885 Morgan Silver Dollar Coin will arrive in a PCGS protective plastic slab. These coins boast an Ms64 grade with each silver coin being meticulously graded by the Professional Coin Grading Service. MS64 coins have an average mint luster with the potential for small clusters of contact marks, one or two heavier contact marks, and one or two small patches of hairlines.
The obverse of each 1885 Silver Dollar Coin features a unique depiction of Lady Liberty. This George T. Morgan creation was made by using a Philadelphia school teacher, Anna Williams, as the model. It showcases Liberty in left-profile relief donning a Phrygian cap.
A heraldic eagle design is displayed on the reverse of each 1885 Morgan Dollar Coin. This eagle, also designed by George T. Morgan, features an eagle about to take off whilst holding a bundle of arrows and an olive branch in its talons.
