1884 marks the 7th issue of Morgan Silver Dollars as well as the 6th year the New Orleans Mint issued them. For every year from 1979-1984, mintages of Morgan Silver Dollars from New Orleans grew. 1884-O Morgan Silver Dollar Coins will arrive encased in NGC protective plastic flips. These coins are all graded as MS63 from the renowned National Guaranty Corporation. MS63 coins have a slightly impaired mint luster, several small contact marks, and a few heavy marks that may appear in prime focal areas, but it remains rather attractive to the eye.
The obverse of all 1884-O Silver Dollars will feature George T. Morgan’s depiction of Lady Liberty. She’s accompanied by 13 stars, representing the original colonies, as well as the issuing year with “E Pluribus Unum.”
The reverse of 1884-O Morgan Dollars will depict the heraldic eagle, also created by George T. Morgan. This front-facing eagle is shown holding three arrows and an olive branch in its talons. Identifying marks of the coin surround this image.
