Released quickly on the heels of Bitcoin’s introduction to the world, a 2010 series of commemorative Bitcoin rounds were developed by Michael Bruce. As a digital currency, no one had ever held a physical representation of Bitcoin in their hand until the rounds developed by Bruce were made available for purchase. These designs return today in a limited-edition silver collection. Right now, the 1 oz Proof Bitcoin Silver Commemorative Round is available to purchase from JM Bullion.

Bitcoin was introduced as a form of digital currency in 2009. Also known as a crypto-currency because of its anonymous nature, Bitcoin is not issued by a bank or backed by any federal reserve around the world. The currency is entirely digital and does not exist in any physical form.
These 1 oz Proof Bitcoin Silver Commemorative Rounds are a physical manifestation of the popular crypto-currency, but have no actual value as either a Bitcoin or any other type of currency. This newly-released series includes two silver options, proof and antique, as well as a stunning copper round.
On the obverse of the 1 oz Proof Bitcoin Silver Commemorative Round you’ll find the iconic Bitcoin symbol. Reflective of the design of the US dollar symbol ($), it features a capital “B” with two vertical lines struck through it. Engravings include “AOCS Approved,” “Bitcoin – Digital – Decentralized – Peer to Peer,” and “One Oz .999 Fine Silver.”
The reverse of each Bitcoin Silver Round includes a similar electronic coding design in the background field, with a matte finish square in the upper-left design field that includes the initials of Michael Bruce and the year of issue.
All of the 1 oz Proof Bitcoin Silver Commemorative Rounds have a mirrored finish to the design’s background field, enhancing the visual beauty of each piece.
Osborne Mint struck these silver rounds for release. Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, Osborne traces its history back to 1835 and holds the title as America’s oldest private minting facility.

“Love Bitcoin and Silver so I had to get one, also got some copper bitcoin rounds for family and friends! Great detail. I searched for a gold one but they don’t have them yet, only gold plated on other sites. Very fast shipping especially when you purchase with Bitcoin like me :)”
