Each of the 1 oz Metalor Gold Bars in this product listing come in brand-new condition from the mint with a sealed assay pack. The back has a capsule at the center to house the 1 oz gold bar and features important assay information. One side of the bar has the Metalor name with a serial number, while the other side features marks of the weight, metal content, and purity with the signature and seal of a certified assayer.
Metalor gold bars offered in this product listing from JM Bullion are minted ingots. A minted ingot goes through various processes from the raw gold form to become the bar you receive in this sealed pack. The melted gold is first formed into a cast bar that then has specific shapes stamped out of it to create the precise shape of this 1 oz gold bar. Engravings and markings are then stamped onto the bars by computer-controlled presses.
Obverse design elements of the 1 oz Metalor Gold Bar include the Metalor brand name. Inscriptions on this side of the bar are engraved left to right and arranged vertically down the long face of the bar. While the brand name is at the top, the weight, purity, and metal content are in the middle. The bottom includes the Metalor assayer’s seal with a serial number and a unique QR code that is engraved onto the bar itself.
Reverse features of the 1 oz Metalor Gold Bar can vary based on the specific 1 oz Metalor bar you receive. Some bars have only the Metalor name inscribed vertically up and down the bar, with “Metalor” inscribed with the “M” at the bottom reading up to the “R.” Another possible design includes that of a tree topped by “Au,” with branches extending out to leaves consisting of the popular “recycle” symbol of arrows going around in a triangular shape. “Responsible Refining” is inscribed on the face of these particular bars.
Metalor is a Swiss refinery that was founded in 1852 specializing in melting gold and producing watch cases. Today, it is one of Switzerland’s leading private refineries with a focus on environmental responsibility in its production processes.
