    Ohio Precious Metals Bullion

Ohio Precious Metals (OPM) is one of America’s largest manufacturers/refiners of silver and gold bars and rounds. They wholesale gold and silver bars to bullion banks and traders and also return bars to refining customers. OPM is a trusted brand and a great source for high-quality gold and silver commodities. If you invest in gold or silver, OPM is a name you may already know.

    Brief History of OPM Metals

Ohio Precious Metals LLC was established in 2003, but they have been a trusted metals refiner since 1974. In 2003, the company expanded and relocated to a huge facility in Beaver Pike. They also upgraded their refinery in 2012 with state-of-the-art technology. OPM is committed to high quality, so they constantly update their technology and refining practices.

OPM works closely with NTR Metals, which is a Texas-based refining company. They are both wholly owned by Elemetal LLC. This helps ensure that the gold and silver bullion products you receive are high quality and also available at the best price.

    OPM's Refining Facility

As mentioned, OPM has a state-of-the-art facility in Jackson, Ohio. It is located in the Appalachian Mountains at Beaver Pike on a 133-acre site. The facility is 168,000 square feet and staffs over 200 employees. They have the capacity to refine approximately 150 tonnes of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium annually.

The refining processes at OPM’s facility include pyro-metallurgical chlorination, wet chemical parting, wet chemical chlorination, electric furnace smelting, and solvent extraction. These technologically advanced processes have kept OPM at the forefront of the market for decades. They can refine a wide variety of scrap metals to 99.9 percent pure silver and 99.99 percent pure gold. OPM can also upgrade impure precious metals to fine products. As a matter of fact, they developed many of the modern-day refining practices.

After gold and silver bars are cast at the facility, they are minted with an official stamp that proves their authenticity. The official stamp of OPM depicts a mushroom inside an oval with “OHIO PRECIOUS METALS” and “JACKSON” embossed around it. This stamp has been used since 2012. There is also an official insignia and patterned stamp for the back of bars. The official stamp has changed slightly over the years, but OPM’s name, the weight of the bar, and its purity are always included on the stamp.

Products and Services Offered by OPM

Because OPM’s facility is so large and equipped with the best technology, they can offer a range of products and services. They offer both high-grade and low-grade refining services, with their biggest focus on gold and silver.

High-grade refining services are available to jewelers, coin dealers, pawnbrokers, the banking industry, and secondary refiners. OPM also offers low-grade refining services to a wider market. The materials they can refine include slags, crucibles, mechanically processed sweeps, dried non-hazardous sludges, polishings, low-grade copper bullion, grindings, and bench waste.

OPM mainly produces investment grade silver and gold that comes in a variety of sizes. Most OPM Silver Bars and Rounds are made in sizes of 1 oz, 10 oz, and 100 oz bullion, but they also produce good delivery bars in silver and gold in much larger weights. OPM offers more products and services than most other metal refineries because of its ownership by Elements LLC.

Why Choose OPM Rounds and Bars?

One aspect of OPM's business that makes it stand out from others is that the company has Responsible Source Refinery Certification and complies with all local, state, EPA, and Federal regulations. It also tries to be as eco-friendly as possible, so it does not accept materials that include mercury, beryllium, selenium, cadmium, or radio-active materials.

Additionally, OPM is accredited by the London Bullion Market Association (LBM) and the CME Group — Market Contract: COMEX. This means investors never have to worry about authenticity and commodities produced at the refinery are easy to trade and store.

OPM products are packaged tightly and arrive safely at your home. If you’re interested in buying gold or silver bullion products, look into OPM. The products and services they offer are vast and priced very competitively. Be sure to check out our wide selection of OPM's bullion products today which JM Bullion offers in both gold and silver.
