For the reverse of 1801 Draped Bust Large Cent Coins, the mint features a simple design concept. The denomination of ONE CENT is engraved at the center of the coin and encircled by a wreath. Around the edge, you’ll find the nation of issue and an engraving of the denomination in fractions (1/100).
The Large Cent was the first copper penny issue from the United States Mint. The first Large Cent was struck in 1793 and was minted annually by the US Mint, with one exception: 1815.
