The Walking Liberty silver round by SMI is one of my favorites, an especially good value. It looks similar to the American silver Eagle coin, but it is not quite as wide so it’s likely a bit thicker. The main difference is that the SMI version looks like a proof coin while the basic American Eagle doesn’t. Another difference is that the SMI coin says .999 fine silver but the American Eagle just says “one ounce fine silver” with no mention of the percentage of silver. The American Eagle is also recognized as “one dollar” while the SMI version is not. But the SMI coin has something that the American Eagle doesn’t have, an exclusive security mint mark which helps prevent counterfeiting, and to me, that’s a bonus.

Just cracked open my tube of 20 Sunshine Mint Walking Liberty Rounds. These are very impressive rounds. I love the mirror-like field that you get with proof-type coins, but in a much less expensive round. While this round is a good bit smaller (but same weight) than an actual Silver Eagle, it makes up for it with the high-quality proof-style strike. The detail is very impressive too.. while again, not to the level of a real Silver Eagle, these rounds are VERY cool to look at. Great addition to my collection. As usual, JM Bullion had the best price at the time too!

Just received Sunshine Minting (SM) Walking Liberty 1 oz. silver rounds. I buy SM products because of security mint mark. I pay with credit card, and these rounds arrived at my door 2 afternoons later-worth the 4% CC charge. New USPO shipping is quick & no signature required. I tend to only buy Sunshine Ag because my father-in-law who worked for Sunshine mine would give me hell if I bought anything different. They make a good product and always top quality, oh and my father-in-law says the others are made of pot metal. LOL!

Another home run by the Sunshine Mint. I bought a full tube of 20 rounds. These are not exact replicas, as the finish is different from a real American Silver Eagle coin but, they still look great. The SI Security Mint Mark on the reverse of these coins works amazing. I can not say enough good things about the Sunshine Mint. Once you have a decoder lens, you won’t want anything else.

Great coin and service from jmbullion, I’m definitely satisfied with the purchase.

That said I’m marking this 4 out of 5 stars for two reasons. First I wish the coin diameter was listed in the specifications. I’m obviously aware that this isn’t a “real” silver eagle but I thought it would at least share the same dimensions, but the coin seems to be closer to 37-38mm in diameter rather than 40mm.

Second, I’m not very impressed with the design. This is a very minor point, I realize that most people aren’t buying sunshine silver for their designs and there are excellent pictures provided so the design shouldn’t be a surprise. All of that said, I think I would go with a different sunshine or silvertowne design in the future when getting inexpensive rounds because when set side-by-side with a real silver eagle it really looks like a cheap imitation and is a little disappointing.

I ordered 500 of the Walking Liberty along with 500 Sunshine rounds on Monday 8/10/15 and received them on Thursday 8/13/15.
