Spiderman Makes His Debut
The web-slinger is one of the most beloved characters in Marvel Comics. Spiderman holds a special place in the history of Marvel Comics and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the first teenage superhero. On the obverse side of 2019 2 oz Antique Fiji Marvel Spiderman Mask Silver Coin is a depiction of the web-slinger’s mask on a 3D, domed surface. These 2 oz silver coins are impressive in their depiction of Spiderman’s mask with no other markings or engravings on the surface. The webs he weaves crisscross the mask and the almond-shaped outlines of his eyes stare hauntingly at you as you view the coin. Each one has an antique polish that helps to highlight the intricate details of the coin’s design.
For the reverse design field, the coins have a flat surface with the coat of arms for Fiji. The Fijian coat of arms is as intricate as any nation’s heraldic symbolism. The shield is quartered by the Cross of St. George and topped by the golden Lion of England, both remnants of Great Britain’s territorial control over the island. The lion holds a cacao pod in its paws and three of the four quadrants also feature symbols of Fiji’s natural resources in the form of sugarcane, coconut palms, and bananas. The lower-left quadrant has a dove with an olive branch representing peace. Inscriptions on this side include “Fiji 2019,” 2 oz .999 Fine Silver,” and “5 Dollars.” The copyright logo of Marvel is also found on this side.

The coins are housed with the domed, obverse side facing up as you open the case. Background on Spider-Man
Spiderman was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, and he made his first appearance in Marvel Comics in Amazing Fantasy #15 which was issued in August 1962.
