Each Texas Mint Silver Revolution Series 4-Round Set available here comes with a presentation booklet housing the four individual 1 oz silver rounds. The rounds are dated in the release cycle based on the occurrence of each event in the Texas Revolution. The 2020 Round is the first and depicts the Battle of Gonzales, while the 2023 Round is the last and depicts the Battle of San Jacinto. The booklet includes background on each round’s design.
The Texas Revolution was a significant conflict that took place from 1835 to 1836, resulting in Texas gaining independence from Mexico. One of the pivotal moments was the Battle of Gonzales in October 1835, often considered the beginning of the revolution. When Mexican authorities attempted to reclaim a cannon from Texian settlers, the settlers refused and raised a flag reading “Come and Take It,” leading to a skirmish that ignited the larger conflict.
In the obverse of the Texas Mint Silver Rounds, you will find a common design element. The mint features a topographical, textured silhouette of the Great State of Texas in the background field. Imposed over the image of the state is a smooth engraving of the Lone Star. The Lone Star in the Texas flag and other state symbolism represents Texas’ past as a country unto itself.
For the reverse of each 1 oz Texas Mint Silver Revolution Round, you will find different designs. Taken in order of release, these rounds include the 2020 Battle of Gonzales release, the 2021 Battle of the Alamo release, the 2022 Goliad Massacre release, and the 2023 Battle of San Jacinto release. These rounds were released in the same order these battles and skirmishes took place during the Texas Revolution.
