Monarch Precious Metals Silver Bullion Bars

With precious metal prices riding a high in the midst of ongoing economic certainty in the 21st century, there have been a number of private mints in the United States that have either expanded their portfolio of offerings for investors and collectors, or opened their doors for the first time. One of the more exciting new mints in the US is Monarch Precious Metals.

Located in Oregon, this private minting facility produces some of the most unique products you’ll find on the market today. All Monarch products are struck using hand-poured techniques and feature hand-stamped engravings. Rustic and traditional are the name of the game at Monarch Precious Metals, and their vast selection of silver bars speaks volumes about the diversity of its catalog. Now, many of the Monarch Precious Metals silver bars you are looking for are available from JM Bullion.

    Traditional Hand-Poured One-to-Two Oz Bars

Monarch Precious Metals originally focused on the production of silver bars that had simple design sets, hand-stamped engravings, and rustic forms. These bars came in a variety of shapes that were determined, in some part, by the molds in use at the time by the refinery and the weight of the specific product.

Among the offerings from Monarch in this category at the moment are the 1 oz Monarch Hand-Poured Silver Bar, the 50 Gram Monarch Hand-Poured Silver Bar, and the 2 oz Monarch Hand-Poured Silver Bars. Each one of these bars has a different shape than the next. The 1 oz features a standard rectangular shape, while the 50 Gram (1.6 Troy oz) bar is square and the 2 oz bar has a tombstone shape.

These original offerings from the mint feature common design elements that are shared by almost every bar produced at Monarch. Each one has a minimum fineness of .999 pure silver, hand-poured form, and hand-stamped engravings. Details on the individual bars are as follows:

    • 1 oz Monarch Silver Bar: On the primary face of these silver bars is the Monarch Precious Metals corporate logo, along with the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar, as well as the full company name. The logo for MPM is, appropriately, a crown with the letter P rising from the middle of the design.
    • 50 Gram Monarch Silver Bar: The primary face of the 50 Gram Monarch Poured Silver Bar are the engravings that identify the bar. Unlike larger bars from MPM, the 50 Gram bar is smaller and square in shape. All engravings are centered on the corporate logo for Monarch, a crown with a P rising from the center with visible M’s on either side. Encircling the logo is the refinery’s full name. The weight, metal content, and purity are engraved around that inner circle.
    • 2 oz Monarch Silver Bar: Featured on the primary face of the 2 oz Monarch Poured Silver Bar are engravings that include the bars purity, metal content, and weight. The Monarch corporate logo is stamped along the top of the bar. The logo, a crown crafted out of the letters “MPM,” is surrounded by the words “Monarch Precious” in an arch above the logo and the word “Metals” below.

These bars all have the standard, simplistic designs of most Monarch Precious Metal silver bars. You’ll find no engravings or other design features on the reverse side of these bars. They generally ship in protective plastic for individual bars.

    Traditional Loaf Bars

When it comes to purchasing silver bars solely for the purpose of investing in precious metals, loaf bars have been a preferred vehicle for thousands of years. Original silver and gold bar refining featured only minimal engravings on the bars and a loaf shape that was indicative of a less-civilized time in precious metal refining. Monarch Precious Metals is one of the few mints in the world to revive this classic design and appeal with its lineup of .999 pure silver loaf bars.

This is perhaps the most diverse single lineup from Monarch Precious Metals, boasting a weight that is affordable for any investor, regardless of wealth. Included in the traditional loaf bar lineup from Monarch are the following silver bars:

    • 10 oz Monarch Silver Loaf: On the primary face of each silver bar from Monarch is the corporate information and identifying characteristics of the bar. Arranged from left to right on the face of the 10 oz Monarch Poured Bar is the purity and metal content of the bar, the Monarch Precious Metals name and logo, and the weight of the bar. The Monarch logo is a crown that was created by a combination of the letters “MPM.” On this particular bar, the logo is surrounded by the words “Monarch Precious” in arch above, and the word “Metals” below.
    • 25 oz Monarch Silver Loaf: The primary face of the bar is the only place you’ll find engravings on this product. Stamps on the bar are arranged from left to right, with the bar’s purity and metal content engraved on the far left. In the center is the corporate logo, which consists of a crown shaped using the letters “MPM.” The logo is surrounded by the company name in an arch, with “Monarch Precious” above and “Metals” below. On the far right of the bar is the total weight.
    • 1 Kilo (32.15 Troy oz) Monarch Silver Loaf: On the obverse face of the 1 Kilo Monarch Hand Poured Loaf Silver Bar are the only markings you’ll find identifying the bar. The markings on this face are arranged horizontally on this side from left to right. You’ll find stamped markings that include the purity and metal content of the bar, the Monarch corporate logo, and the weight in Kilograms and ounces of the bar. The Monarch corporate logo uses the letters “MPM” to form a crown, with the words “Monarch Precious” above and “Metals” below.
    • 50 oz Monarch Silver Loaf: On the obverse face of the 50 oz Monarch Hand Poured Loaf Silver Bar are stamped markings arranged horizontally across the face of the loaf. The bar’s purity and metal content are on the left, the Monarch logo is set in the center, and the weight is stamped on the right.
    • 100 oz Monarch Silver Loaf: The largest bar in this series, you’ll find markings only on the obverse of these Monarch Precious Metal silver bars. These 100 oz Monarch Hand Poured Loaf Silver Bars have markings arranged from left to right, starting with the purity and metal content, the Monarch logo in the center, serial number and the weight of the bar.

Like the smaller, traditional hand-poured bars, you’ll find no engravings on the reverse side of these bars. Unlike the smaller bars, many of these loaf bars have engravings arranged horizontally from left to right across the face of the bar. Also different from the smaller bars is the loaf design that gives these bars rounded edges and a narrow top than bottom base.

Uniquely Shaped 5 oz Monarch Silver Bars

From time to time, Monarch Precious Metals will strike extremely unique silver bars that do not take a traditional shape one might expect to see. There are currently two examples of this design, which include a sheriff’s badge and the pirate-themed skull & crossbones design from Monarch. Details on these two popular bars include the following aspects:

    • 5 oz Monarch Silver Sheriff Badge: The obverse face replicates the look and feel of a badge worn by the lawmen from America’s Wild West. Poured in the shape of a five-pointed star, with rounded ends at each tip, the bar features a circular pattern in the center that reads “999” above, “Sheriff” in the middle, and “Silver” below. On the reverse face you’ll find a smoother finish to the bar with no intricate designs. The engravings include on this side read “5 Troy Oz,” the bar’s individual serial number, and the phrase “999 Fine Silver.” The corporate logo for Monarch Precious Metals, a crown formed by the three letters “MPM,” is featured on the top of this side as well.
    • 5 oz Monarch Silver Skull & Crossbones: Each bar is poured into a cast in the exact shape, and the obverse side of the bar features sharp outlines and sunken spaces for the eyes and nose of the skull. The reverse side of the bar features a similar rough finish, and bears the only engravings on either side of the bar. In order, the engravings include the weight of the bar, an individual serial number, the purity of the bar, and its metal content.

These bars were some of the first from Monarch Precious Metals to feature engravings and/or design sets on both sides of the bar. While its standard bar designs are often regularly struck to meet demand, these unique bars were struck with limited numbers and individual serial numbers indicating each product’s place in the production process.

Monarch 5 oz Viking Silver Bars

One of two all-new silver bar series available from Monarch Precious Metals is the Viking Silver Bar lineup. These silver bars celebrate the Viking warriors of Scandinavia who were among the first seafaring conquerors of the modern world. Between the 8th and 12th centuries these Germanic Norse warriors spread out from Scandinavia to all corners of the world, conquering, exploring, and trading as far away as the British Isles, Ireland, Norther Europe, Central Europe, Russia, and even the New World.

To date, there are two designs that have been released in the series. Each one features a different image of a Viking warrior, and bears some of the new hallmarks of Monarch Precious Metals silver bar production, such as flat, stackable forms. Details on the two designs available include:

    • 5 oz Monarch Viking Ax Silver Bar: The first release in the series, on the obverse of these Viking Silver Bars you’ll find the image of an imposing Viking warrior carrying a large, double-headed battle ax. Below the warrior you’ll find the Monarch crown logo as a mint mark, along with markings of the bar’s weight, purity, and metal content. The reverse face of the bar features no engravings, and the overall appearance of the bar’s background reflects a rough, matte finish.
    • 5 oz Monarch Viking Flail and Shield Viking Silver Bar: On the second design released in the series you’ll find the image of a Viking warrior, holding his shield in one hand to protect his body and swinging his flail above his head in preparation to strike. There were numerous variations on the flail used in battle, but most featured a ball on a chain at the end of a stick which had several deadly spikes on it. Additional features on this face of the 5 oz Monarch Flail and Shield Viking Silver Bar include engravings that identify the bar’s weight, purity, and metal content. You’ll also find the recognizable crown logo of Monarch Precious Metals.

    Monarch Silver Stacker Bars

This is the newest silver bar series available from Monarch, and it marks a departure from the traditional loaf bars produced at the mint. As of early 2016, investors can expect to see these stacker bars replace the production of loaf bars of the same weight as the refinery adjusts production to meet the demands of investors who prefer easily stacked and stored bars. Each one is still hand-poured and hand-stamped with a minimal .999 pure silver.

Currently there are just three weights available from Monarch Precious Metals in the new silver stacker series. These bars include the following:

    • 3 oz Monarch Silver Stacker: On the primary face of the bar is the corporate logo for Monarch Precious Metals, a crown with the letter P rising from the center. The full name of the refinery is included, along with the metal content, weight, and purity of the bar.
    • 5 oz Monarch Silver Stacker: The primary face of these silver bars features the only engravings you’ll find on the product. Situated from top to bottom on the rectangular bars, the Monarch Precious Metals logo is in the center. A crown formed by the letters “MPM,” the corporate logo is surrounded by “Monarch Precious” in an arch above, and Metals below. Other engravings on the primary face include the weight, purity, and metal content of the bar.
    • 10 oz Monarch Silver Stacker: On the obverse face of the bar you’ll find all of the engravings it carries. At the top is the weight of the bar, marked as “10 Troy Ounces.” Below that is the Monarch Precious Metals logo, which consists of a crown formed by the letters “MPM.” Additionally, “Monarch Precious” is engraved in a half-moon shape above that, with “Metals” stamped below. The bar’s purity and metal content are also featured on this side.

    About Monarch Precious Metals

Monarch Precious Metals was founded in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon in 2008. The mint was opened in response to the demand for silver and gold products in the midst of surging prices for various precious metals. More importantly, as a private mint Monarch fills a vital role in the precious metals industry.

While many sovereign mints produce the most in-demand products in the world in the form of gold and silver bullion coins, these aren’t always affordable for or available to all investors. These coins often come with much higher premiums over the spot price of gold or silver, and the limited mintages mean that even those who want to purchase them aren’t guaranteed a product.

Monarch Precious Metals creates demand for its products with unique, one-of-a-kind designs that originate from its hand-poured production processes and hand-stamped engravings. All of its products, gold and silver alike, have a minimum purity of .999 pure silver or gold.
