Ride the Wave with the Redditors of WallStreet Bets

Ride the Wave with the Redditors of WallStreetBets

For those who were not familiar with the subreddit group WallStreetBets prior to January 2021, the group has quickly become an overnight sensation for the shockwaves it sent through Wall Street during a two-week period in January and February. Following the meteoric rise to prominence of the group, private mints have responded with special issues of copper and silver rounds celebrating the group’s tenacity and its ability to disrupt the financial world. Learn all about the exciting Wall Street Bets Silver Rounds available from JM Bullion.

    Obverse

The obverse side of the 1 oz Wall Street Bets Silver Round features the iconic channel banner for the Reddit group, as well as the cartoonish mascot featured in its logo. Set against a diamond-patterned background, the WallStreetBets trader stands with his arms out with slicked-back hair. He wears sunglasses and a suit-and-tie. The motto for the group “Buy High, Sell Higher” is featured above with the channel banner and the subreddit location for WallStreetBets featured at the bottom of the design rocker.

    Reverse

On the reverse face of Wall Street Bets Silver Rounds, you will find a variety of design emblems referencing language used by Redditors on WSB. The primary logos on this face of the round include a rocket ship taking off with a pair of hands and a diamond to the right. The diamond and hands is a popular phrase among Redittors on WallStreetBets. Known as diamond hands, it refers to holding onto a stock no matter how it performs. Along the upper-left side of the design rocker, you will find the stock symbols for five major companies that traders from WallStreetBets targeted in the short squeeze of January 2021. In order from left to right, you will find the stock symbols for GameStop, Blackberry, AMC Theaters, Nokia, and Bed Bath & Beyond.

    Details

The Wall Street Bets Rounds are available with 1 Troy oz of .999 pure silver content. The rounds can be purchased individually inside of plastic flips or by multiples of 20. When buying multiples of 20, you will receive the rounds in a plastic tube.

    What is Wall Street Bets?

WallStreetBets is a subreddit group where users share information and discuss different stock-and-option trading ideas. The group is infamous for its choice language within its discussion boards, as well as its profane terminology and aggressive trading strategies. Jamie Rogozinski was the founder of the group, launching the subreddit in January 2012. As of April 2021, the subreddit has 10 million active users. Few of the users on WallStreetBets are professional traders. Instead, the forum attracts young traders and investors who are willing to throw caution to the wind and pursue high-risk day trading with intense vigor.

    The WSB Short Squeeze

Starting on January 22, 2021, the users of WallStreetBets used the Robinhood trading platform to initiate a short squeeze move on GameStop. At the beginning of January, the struggling retailer’s stock was valued at $17.25 per share. At its height during the WSB-fueled short squeeze, the stock of GameStop hit an astonishing record high. On January 28, 2021, GameStop shares reached $500 per share in pre-market trading. The short squeeze maneuver by WSB traders cost traditional Wall Street firms millions in losses.
