The Liberty Gold Eagle Coin was struck for 70 years by the US Mint, with the first issue in 1838 and the final release in 1907. The longevity of the Liberty Eagle was surpassed only by the stability of the coin design. There was only one minor design change made to the coin during its 70-year run, with the slight addition of IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse of the coins in 1866.

About Uncirculated coins occupy a sliding stretch of the Sheldon Numeric Scale between 50 and 58. On the obverse of Liberty Gold Eagle Coins, you will find a portrait of Lady Liberty. This 1838 design remained unchanged on the obverse of the coins through 1907. It depicts Liberty in left-profile relief with a coronet crown on her head and a ring of 13 stars around the edge of the field.

The reverse side of Pre33 $10 Gold Eagle Coins comes with a depiction of the heraldic eagle. The design shows the bald eagle in front-facing relief with the US national shield on its chest. The eagle uses its talons to clutch the arrows of war and the olive branch of peace. The Type I coins lack the national motto, while Type II coins issued starting in late 1866 come with a banner that includes the national motto.
